The Great Escape

Oh Boy! What an exciting day!

Today when we walked into the room, we saw Ronaldo our elf, trapped in a locked box!
As we walked over to our seats, we saw a box at each table. Each box had 4 locks that were all different!
One lock was a number combination, one lock was a word lock, one lock was a directional lock and one lock was a key lock / padlock.

Mrs. Cantafio explained the problem all about, Operation Save Christmas!
Our goal was to open up the locks, work through some problems and find a way to not only get Ronaldo out of the box, but also the super important naughty/nice list and Santa's map back from Nigel the Naughty Elf!

We spent about 2 hours working on our boxes and we all got the map just before lunch!
After we put the map together, we noticed that all our classmates were on the naughty list BUT...... Mrs. Cantafio and Ronaldo were on the nice list!!!! We were not happy campers about that!

Throughout the two hours,  some of us struggled and got frustrated but most importantly, we had TONS of fun! :)

Our Escape Boxes helped us develop the following skills:
- Critical Thinking
- Communication
- Making Inferences
- Collaboration / Teamwork
- Problem Solving
- Math Skills (multiplication, addition)
- Perseverance
